Getting Around in Streetsville

Easy commuting via the Streetsville GO Station, located at Thomas St. and Mississauga Rd., provides regular train service and bus service to downtown Toronto, York University, and Finch Station. 

Easy access to highways 401,407,403,410, 427 and the QEW connects Streetsville residents to anywhere in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. Pearson International Airport is an easy 30 minute drive.
 
Streetsville’s Rich History 



Streetsville has a rich history dating back to 1818, when Timothy Street was granted 1,000 acres of land as part of a newly formed township. In 1824, this would become Streetsville. The village flourished and grew as a mill town, revolving around its five major mills. In 1858 Streetsville was incorporated as a village. Streetsville remained relatively untouched for almost a century until urbanization began in the early 1950’s. 1953 saw the beginning of the construction of both Riverview and Vista Heights subdivisions. In 1962, Streetsville was incorporated as a town and In 1974, Streetsville was incorporated into the new City of Mississauga.

Streetsville has a beautiful and vibrant downtown core where shopping, dining and relaxing are the order of the day! With over 300 businesses, there’s a lot to see and do in downtown Streetsville. Spend the day shopping, treat yourself at one of the many spas or indulge yourself at one of the many restaurants, bakeries and cafes along the way!

If you are looking for a more traditional mall shopping experience, residents of Streetsville are only minutes by car from some of the best mall shopping in Canada – five minutes away from Erin Mills Town Centre, eight minutes away from unparalleled shopping at the fabulous Square One Shopping Centre, twelve minutes away from Heartland Town Centre, and fifteen minutes away from the Toronto Premium Mall. What more could one savvy shopper ask for?      

Entertainment and Attractions in Streetsville  



Much of the activity in Streetsville revolves around Streetsville Memorial Park where you will find a minor soccer field, a softball diamond and batter's box, picnic grounds, barbeques, a children’s play area, an outdoor pool, nature trails and fishing.  


 
The Vic Johnston Community Centre, home to the Streetsville Hockey League and the Streetsville Tigers, is the centre for hockey, skating and community events.   


 
Streetsville’s annual festivals include the renowned Bread and Honey Festival, Canada Day Celebrations, the annual Taste of Streetsville dining event and the Mississauga Santa Claus Parade.  

Streetsville is also home to Mississauga’s Braeben Golf Course. Designed over 30 years ago to replicate the Scottish Highlands, the course boasts an 18-hole Championship Course and a 9-hole par-3 course.
